Subj : Picnics To : Dale Shipp From : Ruth Haffly Date : Thu Apr 06 2023 19:35:24 Hi Dale, RH> Sadly, it's probably a thing of the past for the echo. We (Steve and RH> I) are probably the most logical choice for hosting another one but I'm RH> afraid the number of participants would be even fewer than the last RH> one. We could travel to one, but again, the hosting of one by another RH> participant is probably not very likely. DS> I agree, unless someone else steps up the echo picnics will be a thing DS> of the past. It's something we'll have to consider, probably not this year but maybe think about for next year. We've got some travel plans set for late May and a good bit of July, with plans for other events locally thruout the summer. DS> Title: Grilled Taco Chicken DS> Categories: Easy, George grill, Chicken, Tested DS> Yield: 2 Servings DS> 1 tb Taco seasoning (from mix) DS> Tested 9/28/07. Tastes good - will make again. RH> That does look good. Have you made it again or does this remind you RH> that you intend to make it again? (G) I usually don't buy taco RH> seasoning, have made my own with a mix of dried peppers (powders or RH> flakes), cumin, a bit of powdered orange peel, pinch of salt and RH> whatever else strikes my fancy from my spice cabinet. DS> I don't recall whether we ever did make it again or not. If we did, DS> Gail did not update the recipe in our book. I've done several things over the years that I've since lost (misplaced) the recipe for, have looked but not (yet) found. But, I've got enough cook books and recipies on line to choose from, I can always find something new to try. DS> Speaking of blends, here is one that we once tried. Again, I don't DS> recall if we did it again -- just that it is not now a staple in our DS> cabinet. DS> Title: Pepper Blend DS> Categories: Testing DS> Yield: 1 Bottle Interesting. We usually don't use pepper blends except for a peppercorn mix in the one grinder. It's a commercial mix of black, white, red and green peppercorns. Other peppers (ancho, chipotle, cayenne, etc) we keep in separate powdered form, combining as we use them. --- Catch you later, Ruth rchaffly{at}earthlink{dot}net FIDO 1:396/45.28 .... It works!
