Subj : shrinkage with age To : Dale Shipp From : Ruth Haffly Date : Mon Apr 17 2023 12:10:49 Hi Dale, DS> Shrinking as we age seems to be a universal given. I've shrunk an DS> inch and Gail perhaps two. RH> That's where the step stools come in handy. My mom was on the short RH> side so after she retired from the school library, she brought home RH> (with the school's OK) the step stool she used there. It had wheels, RH> but they locked once she put weight on the step. She used it in her RH> kitchen but eventually traded it in for a 2 step stool with a grab bar. RH> We've got one of the latter; good for reaching the topmost shelf in our RH> pantry. DS> We've got four stools that could be used. All of them fold up. Two of DS> them we got on the web, one is 12 inch and the other is 18 inch. Then I think both of my small ones are 12 inches. I bought one at the Wegman's in your area. That one is kept in the sewing room; the other is in the kitchen, with the 2 step stool. DS> there is a more sturdy white one that has two steps and can be used as DS> a sit stool to get to the lower shelves for longer sessions (e.g. DS> cleaning). Finally there is one we got from our Lowes that has three DS> steps and a handle one can hold onto for stability. We rarely use the DS> top step, only leaning against that one for additional stability. I've grabbed the kitchen step stools to use as a seat when going thru the lower pantry shelves. Only problem with the smaller one is that I'm sitting so low and there's no side rail to grab, getting up can be a bit of a challenge some days. DS> Title: Macaroni Salad (new) DS> Categories: D/g, Boat, Pasta, Salads DS> Yield: 4 Generously From the looks of it, it would probably feed 6-8 comfortably. Yesterday after church we went over to our favorite Korean place with the 2 young men we had the Mexican meal with last week. Also joining us was a former member, now studying in Jerusalem but home on break. The I think one of the 3 young men had had bulgogi before (he ordered it again) but none of them had ever had a seafood pancake. We split one as a table appetiser. One guy got fried rice, another one a noodle bowl, I got jap jae with shrimp and Steve got a hot stone shrimp bowl. None of us finished our entrees; 3 of us took them home for another meal. A good time was had by all and they enjoyed their introduction to a new cuisine. --- Catch you later, Ruth rchaffly{at}earthlink{dot}net FIDO 1:396/45.28 ....
