Bv)= A little surprised you had not encountered Ski before in Illinois. It is glass-bottled in Southern Illinois somewhere, and can be found on tap in some restaurants in St. Louis. Here in Kentucky, it was a big thing until Coke-Cola bought the Greensburg Bottling Company and got rid of all of the Double Cola drinks. They actually kept Ski, and sold it in place of Mello Yellow, in a limited area. The Kentucky Headhunters sang about it in their hit song, "Dumas Walker." Ski is now distributed locally by Ale-8, so it has made somewhat of a comeback. As for Double Cola, there are not many nearby places to find it. I think the closest place is Evansville. I take that back... I can get Illinois glass-bottled Ski at the local Cracker Barrel gift shop, last I checked. ;) "Double" comes from the size of the early bottles being twice as big as other colas but for the same price. IMHO, it is better than Coke or Pepsi, especially the glass-bottled, real sugar version (which I think is all that Excel makes -- Excel is the Illinois bottler). * SLMR 2.1a * Keep your stick on the ice --- SBBSecho 3.14-Linux * Origin: capitolcityonline.net * Telnet/SSH:2022/HTTP (1:2320/105) .
