Subj : Funerals To : Dave Drum From : Lee Lofaso Date : Fri May 26 2023 01:11:59 Hello Dave, DD>> I'm going to give my own funeral a miss if at all possible. SD>> I think that's all of our goal. DD> I have learned that it IS possible. I have a prepaid cremation waiting for DD> me when I cease to be animate. Why? Just dig a hole in the ground and have a neighbor (or hired help) drop you in and cover up the hole. No need for cremation or having the body exhumed. So why pay for what you do not need? DD> My brother asked me during this last go round of hospitilisation what DD> my wishes were. So I told him where the paperwork for the cremation was and DD> gave him a copy of my will. The burial at sea option would work here, except that shrimp boats would have to take the body at least 3 miles offshore before dumping the body into the sea, along with poking holes in the box to make sure it sinks. And scattering ashes on the beach is a no-no, along with throwing them into the wind. Along with pouring them into waterways such as the Mississippi River, which is muddy enough as it is, due to EPA regulations. Far easier to just dig a hole. No paperwork needed, and not toxic to the environment. Cremation is costly, and releases far too much greenhouse gases into the atmosphere for what it is worth. It is the marker one should focus on, as everybody deserves a marker. Including the homeless who have nowhere to go even when they are gone. Do you know what cities do with the remains of the homeless? If next of kin cannot be found or located, the deceased are cremated, with their remains taken to a local cemetery, and their ashes then scattered into the winds. That is the only way I know of as to how to get a free cremation. Better to dig a hole.
