Subj : Sourdough Breadsticks To : All From : Ben Collver Date : Wed May 31 2023 10:42:22 MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Sourdough Breadsticks Categories: Breads Yield: 15 Servings 1 c Instant nonfat dry milk 1 c Water; warm, (105 to 115 -degrees F) 1 c Sourdough Starter 2 c All-purpose flour 3 tb Vegetable oil 2 ts Salt 2 ts Sugar 1/2 ts Baking soda 1/2 c All-purpose flour; up to 1 -cup 1/4 c Butter; melted Mix dry milk, water, Sourdough Starter and 2 cups flour in non-metallic bowl; cover loosely. Let stand in wrm place until mixture is coarse and bubbly, at least 8 hours. Mix oil, salt, sugar and baking soda into sourdough mixture. Stir in enough of the remaining flour to make dough easy to handle. Knead dough lightly on well-floured board, about 2 minutes. Roll dough into rectangle, 15x10 inches, on well-floured board. Cut into fifteen 1-inch strips. Roll each strip into even rough strand, about 14 inches long. Double strand over and twist to form bread stick. Place bread sticks on greased baking sheet; bruch with melted butter. Cover with plastic wrap. Let rise in warm place until double, 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Bake bread stick until golden brown, 30 to 35 minutes. MMMMM .
