The 1930s versions translated over to .doc format pretty well. The 1954
..... noy so much. In trying to get a better version of the '54 pamphlet
I downloaded a freeware PDF reader/translator called Expert PDF Reader
which does all the things tha Adobe Acrobat does - better, And it's my
favourite price - FREE.

MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

      Title: U.S.F.S. Scalloped Potatoes
 Categories: Potatoes, Dairy, Cheese
      Yield: 4 servings

      2 lg (or 4 sm) potatoes
      2 c  Milk
        lg Piece of cheese.
      2 tb Butter
      1 md Onion
           Salt & pepper

  Wash, peel and slice thinly, potatoes and onions. Place
  layer of potatoes, dot with cheese and several slices of
  onion. Add salt and pepper. Continue this until you use
  all of the potatoes and onions. On top of this put a
  layer of cheese.

  Cover with the milk and bake in oven until potatoes are
  tender when tried with a fork.
