Subj : Mulled Ale With Spices and Brandy To : All From : Ben Collver Date : Mon Dec 18 2023 12:54:58 MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06 Title: Mulled Ale With Spices And Brandy Categories: Alcohol, Beverages, Christmas Yield: 2 Servings 18 oz Christmas ale; (or Altbier, -bock lager, winter warmer -ale) 2 1/2 tb Dark brown sugar; or more 5 Cloves 2 Star anise 1 Cinnamon stick 1/2 ts Ground nutmeg 6 Orange peel pieces 3 oz Brandy The orange peel should be the thin top layer of skin only, without the bitter white layer In a saucepan or small pot mix the ale (one and a half bottles, 18 oz total) with the brown sugar and nutmeg, add the cloves, star anise, cinnamon stick and orange peel. Bring to gentle simmer (do not allow to boil), stir for sugar to dissolve and let simmer for 2-3 minutes to become well infused with the spices. Remove from heat and add the brandy.
