Subj : Dale Shipp has Passed To : Dave Drum From : Ruth Haffly Date : Fri Sep 20 2024 14:53:50 Hi Dave, CS> Re: Dale Shipp has Passed RH> We stopped in to see them in Silver Spring a few years ago, nice (but RH> huge!) retirement complex. We've fond memories of staying at the house; RH> they insisted we stop on our way up to or back from NY a number of RH> times. DD> I imagine that Bryan and his sister are giving their Mom a lot of DD> support. RH> Most definatly so. Cathy used to live just a couple of houses up the RH> street when they were in Columbia. DD> I met her a several of the picnics but I can't recall her face. The DD> nice Irish lady who also lived nearby keeps popping into my mind. DD> Bv)= And DD> I remember Bryan supplying some really great baklava to the next to DD> last picnic in Columbia. The nice Irish lady was Helen, never did learn her last name. She passed away some years ago, while the Shipps were still in Columbia. DD> In other news I've got nine others to sign my petition to have my DD> friend Les named as Springfield's "First Citizen". We're keeping our DD> fingers DD> crossed but we're also being realistic about it. The award always DD> seems to go with the "money" crowd. And whilst Les is not "hurthing" DD> he's not in the "hire an accountant to minimise my taxes" category. Keep pushing it; you may be nicely surprised this year. And, if not this year, maybe next? Today is our 49th anniversary so we're going out to one of our favorite local seafood places for supper. Can't get down on the coast where we used to live and even if we could, most of the places we used to to go to are long gone. We're also prepping the camper; next week is an RV/radio net rally in Pigeon Forge, TN. Got to make sure we have enough room to bring back some new cast iron pieces.
