The reason for my experiment was because I noticed that my  
single quote test (with just one "XX> " at the beginning of a  
paragraph) turned into something else when I viewed the message  
on another bbs.

Note that the last paragraph has been modified and turned into  
two separate lines with "xx> " in front of them. That is NOT how  
the original message was written.

It seems to behave quite well, actually.   But it appears that  
Syncronet is changing the message when it sees quotes.
