Subj : MakeNL & CMake ? To : All From : Rj Clay Date : Wed Feb 13 2013 13:14:40 Hi All! I'm involved with a number of projects that are and/or need to be cross-platform and I've been looking into build systems that could be used to upgrade/improve them that is usable on as many systems as possible. (Autotools is not very cross platform...) CMake is available for use on any system for which there is a C++ compiler, and creates "native build environment" for the system it is running on; I.E., makefiles for a Linux system, or MSVC project/workspaces, etc. (And can also be set up to do cross compiles, which will be useful for me...) Besides CTest mentioned below, it also includes CPack which can be used to create install archives; include windows installers. I'll be investigating it in any case, and I will look into using it for MakeNL if no one else does. 14 Oct 12 04:37, andrew clarke wrote to all: ac> Does anyone here who uses MakeNL regularly feel comfortable writing a ac> small "test suite" for MakeNL so the developers can actually verify it ac> works properly? A start has been made for that, at least, but there is still an issue of what to use for a test framework that would be usable on all systems. Something I'll be lookingt at is CTest, which is testing framework included with CMake. Jame --- GoldED+/LNX 1.1.5--b20111217 * Origin: RJC eeePC (1:120/419) .
