And like I would tell new people when I was training them, "its not so much what you say as how you say it". And I used humour to defuse situations. One time this irate violator was fussing and said "f you". I looked at him a second, then my watch and said, "Well, I get off at 4..." He was stunned for a second and didn't know what to say and walked off. Another time I would say "Well, I actually prefer" whatever he wasn't such as different hair colour, taller/shorter, etc. A fella was carrying on one day and called me an MF-er. I replied, "Now just a minute. Its true my mother and I were very close, but that was just a rumour". :) One of the cops had a unruly suspect he was dealing with. The guy was screaming, yelling, ranting, carrying on. The cop asked "Are you going to come along quietly or am I going to have to use ear plugs?" :) Joe --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5 * Origin: Fido Since 1991 | QWK by Web | BBS.FIDOSYSOP.ORG (1:123/140) .
