  College may be "amateur status" for the players, but like the pro
sports, it brings in "big bucks" for the school or organization. And,
you wonder why prices for tickets and concessions (food and drink) are
so high??!! :P

  Most of the folks who hit it big, are bankrupt within a year or
two...or they end up dead. Folks you never knew "come out of the
woodwork" if you win big time.

  Especially if you had big bills to pay at the time.

  Thank goodness many medical facilities have a "financial hardship
program". If you're on a limited, fixed income (as I am), if you make or
receive below a certain monetary threshold each month, your bill is
"written off". I've taken advantage of that several times.
