Subj : Latest Daryl update To : JOE MACKEY From : Daryl Stout Date : Sat Jul 06 2019 11:07:00 Joe, JM> Combination of all the above, plus thunderstorms, etc. JM> He seems to have the worst weather related luck. What was your first clue?? JM> I had visited him just a day or two before the storm. You got out of here just in time. JM> I had been in the Dayton/Toledo area the day before their big storm in JM>May. The Hara Arena, home to "Dayton Hamvention", the "mecca" for U.S. Ham Radio operators, was heavily damaged by a tornado. But, the event had moved to the Greene County Fairgrounds in Xenia a couple of years ago. JM>> i don't know his situation but i'd have done everything i could to have JM>stayed in place and been cooking over a fire of some sort If it hadn't been so hot and humid inside, I would've stayed here. JM> I think some of it has to with his unrelated health issues. That adds fuel to the fire...no pun intended. JM> I would have gone places where I could charge up portable items and just JM>cut back on unnecessary usage. I was able to charge the smartphone at the hotel, but didn't want to take my laptop there. I figured I'd catch up message wise, when I got back online. JM> Heat I can handle, cold not so much. I'm the opposite. I can put another blanket on if I get chilly. JM> He has no idea when or if his BBS will be back up and running. It was 2 1/2 weeks too long.
