At least you've got your electric back now... :) Given all the medical issues you have, though, I'd think you could get some sort of certification from your doctor that says that you are at high risk in extreme weather conditions, perhaps even that a/c and/or heat are life support in your case... Dunno if insurance would be swayed, but it could get you first dibs on restoring power from the power companies... And it might make a point of medical necessity with the insurance... I just had a bit of a run=in with insurance myself, after a deer ran in front of my car last month... car is now fixed, and nothing out of my pocket, mostly due to having a very helpful and good collision mechanic on my side... but it took longer than it needed to, thanks to the adjuster... Of course, it meant that the insurance had to pay more for my rental car, since I needed that longer, too....
