Subj : Re: Daryl update To : NANCY BACKUS From : Daryl Stout Date : Sat Aug 17 2019 09:56:00 Nancy, NB>Writing this from being away at our camp at Boyd Pond... will upload NB>when I get home tomorrow.... :) Boy, you're a traveling lady...doing far more than I likely ever will again. NB> DS> I got the computer working again (darn legacy mode got turned OFF in NB> DS> the Command Prompt window...likely from a Microsoft update). NB>Good catch... At least it was a simple fix...and didn't cost me any money. My wallet and bank account are screaming for morphine right now. :P NB>My thoughts and prayers have been with you since as soon as I heard... NB>I've been there, too... Thank you, ma'am. My brother is an emotional basket case right now. As noted, he has always lived for the present, and for himself...and has always had a hard time confronting the issue of mortality...his, his friends, or otherwise. I thought I'd lose my composure at the funeral home last Wednesday, when I brought in all the stuff, and finalized the arrangements...but I was able to self stabilize. She'll be buried in a red outfit, like a red rose (Rose was her Mom's name), with a colorful beaded necklace she made herself, and red earrings. If you search online for "Roller Drummond Southwest" or Roller Drummond I 30", you'll find the website, and then click on Obituaries, and look for Betty Rentja Stout. The picture is her college graduation photo. An online guestbook is there, and we request that instead of flowers, memorials be made to the food pantry at Geyer Springs United Methodist Church. NB>Hope that all went well... and that you are well on your way to full NB>recovery by now.... The surgery did go well. They blasted the stone to smithereens, then irrigated the bladder to flush it out. But, they gave me a massive dose of Lasix, and combined with drinking 10 pitchers of ice water, I'll give you 3 guesses what I was doing every 5 minutes for 12 hours, and the first 2 don't count. Basically, the nurses brought extra urinal bottles, as I was calling them so often to empty one. NB>It's good to have regular things to keep one going.... and you've also NB>been preparing yourself for the eventuality... I sincerely doubt that it NB>will ever quite hit you like it is affecting your brother.... It nearly hit me last Wednesday, but it may do so at the viewing, and at the service. While there may not be family from out of town coming (I understand my brother and I, the last of our line, are the YOUNGEST of all the family members), there will be a lot of friends locally...including from square dancing, the church, and from high school...the kids that lived in the neighborhood. I've got to prepare a brief eulogy, but when I noted that, a friend of my brothers lamented "Crap!! We'll be here all day!!" I likely will be down at the funeral home EARLY Wednesday for the viewing, because of rush hour traffic...and EARLY Thursday for the service. The weather looks stormy as well, so I hope I can get to and from the funeral home OK. NB> DS> þ OLX 1.53 þ 97.6% of my taglines are borrowed...including this one. NB>Good one.... Thank you.
