Years ago, at my late wife's church, an offshoot of "The Worldwide Church Of God", they were known as "The Community Church Of God", they had to have a business meeting beforehand (they didn't have Sunday School, per se). And, like it or not, sacred or secular organizations have to conduct meetings at one time or another. Anyway, as is usually the case, the meeting ran overtime, so the church service started rather late. The gentleman leading the music (he was my best man at my wedding) said "Since we started so late, I'm sure our preacher will be considerate, and cut his sermon short". Without batting an eye, the preacher said "Fat Chance!!" -- it brought the house down in laughter!! The look on the music directors face was priceless!! I mentioned that at his funeral (he died of cancer 5 months after my wife died 13 years ago), and his widow came up afterwards, and thanked me for that wonderful memory. :) JM>Finally he was asked "What would you do?" which shut him up. He had no idea, JM>just that something needed to be done. I guess he felt he needed to ramble. JM> I am happy my three years are up on Tuesday. Thank goodness for term JM>limits. I'm safe for at least a two years not to be elected again. :) I think after you reach a certain age on jury duty (at least it's that way here), you're exempt from further service. JM>> > ... Just because it doesn't do what you planned doesn't mean it's usele JM>> JM>> JM> That's what I've told my boss for years. :) JM>> JM>> You mean, about yourself....? JM> Uh, er, uh, well, uh... Just like how you ascended to the top...graft, corruption, etc. (your own words).
