Much more exhilarating vistas, for sure.. :) Speaking of which, there were several "scenic views" along the road but over time trees had grown to block the view. Unless the highway department was referring to scenic views of trees. :) > JM> Joe, in Lexington, VA > > Nice. :) I have been one step behind a lot of the protests and all. Never saw anything until Richmond, then decapitated statues, missing statutes, vandalized statutes and pedestals, etc. I saw the missing Columbus in Richmond. I was taking a side trip and stopped to get my bearings and noticed people taking pictures. I assumed, of course, at first they were just some of my fans. Then I realised I was parked right beside it and near the lake the statue was thrown into. Yesterday in Portsmouth a road was closed and seemed that was the statue that was pulled down and the guy got hit in the head when a statue to decapitated. At least this what another fella taking pictures told me. I've run into no problems on the trip. Feel perfectly safe. Today is Norfolk then turn north to Yorktown tomorrow.
