I still don't have that wealthy and wise part down yet. :) I was generally up before 5 or 5.30 and start my day around 6. Many was the day I was well on the road by 7. Then around 2 or 3 start looking for a place for the night. If one gets to a motel around 3, which is generally the earliest to get a room without reservations, one can generally easily get a room. In larger towns and cities I used booking.com to find a reasonably priced room near where I was and could book it in as little as a few minutes before check in. I like that site since it lists options in price, location, gives a description of any amenities, etc. If I were just driving along around that time and saw some nice little mom-and-pop place I stopped. Those folks can use the business. So many people drive past them for some name brand motel. > Things don't always work as we plan.... ;) I've noticed that in life... :) > At least you found out before you got all the way to the end of the > road... That'll have to be another trip, I guess... :) I was getting a bit tired with all my trooping around didn't want to waste a lot time for nothing. > That was a serendipitous find.... now you know where it is, you can plan for a visit when the tower is open... :) Yes it was.
