  I would do a Google search "things to see in..." on whatever upcoming
town I was nearing, usually a day or two out.  That pulled up several options,
such as what the chamber of commerce page listing attractions as well as
others.  
  But so often once some town was way back down the road I would learn
later there was something to see that would be interesting to me.
