JM> Never heard of any of those. Oh man, you *ARE* pretty old then! LOL Captain Underpants has been around for at least 15 years. No matter.. You would certainly have heard of the above if you had kids. >> The Harry Potter series are a staple; JM> That I've heard of. Never read. The books are not bad at all. The film, practically follows the book scene by scene. It's fun quick read even for a grown-up. >> When there is an adaptation to a tv series, many people want to >> get a head start (or get "more to the story") and read the >> books. JM> I know of fan fiction. Fan fiction is something else. I was referring to adaptations of books to film/tv. When there is news of an adaption coming along, the interest for the book version increases - quite a bit. For instance, Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time is coming along to tv. The books have already been redesigned with new covers and increased prices. A new generation of people are therefore "discovering" the series all over again. -- ../|ug --- OpenXP 5.0.50 * Origin: Time moves in one direction, memory in another. -WG- (2:221/1.58) .
