I do remember an episode of The Simpsons where Ned Flanders says, in regards to
bad language, "I expect that kind of language at Denny's, but not here!".  I've
looked up why that reference would have been put it (after all, they wouldn't
have put in that joke if it didn't make sense to others) and found there were
some racial discrimination lawsuits in the 90s.  I do remember something else
being said, ages ago about Denny's, but I was little at the time, and the only
thing I remember was there was some "issue".

In retrospect, looking at it now that I'm older, it seems to be a
nothingburger.
