Are you saying that when connecting to another SMTP server they are logging

   helo localhost.localdomain

If so it suggests a DNS issue.  That is that your external IP when reverse
mapped may come back as localhost.localdomain rather than:

   yourhostname.yourdomain.com

What is your host domain name?
