A BBS is much more than just 'sending files'. Synchronet, being a CP437-native BBS, would have to convert all text from ASCII/CP437/UTF-8/etc. to ATASCII, on the fly, to be compatible with a terminal that only "spoke" ATASCII. This conversion was pretty straight forward for PETSCII. Would not be so for ATASCII. -- digital man Sling Blade quote #13: Karl: He lives inside of his own heart.
