In the story an "simulated" person becomes aware his environment is not real because he can recallprevious versions each time a variable is altered, and also notices hgih profile people appearing and disappearing near a set of telephones in a public area. He picks up the handset on one of the special courtesy phones, and the operator asks if he's ready to leave. He agrees and is transported to the outside world. He begins to question how he, a fabrication of a simulation can exist outside of it, then comes to the conclusion the "visitors" to his reality are not really outside, and are part of a larger simulation themselves. --- þ Synchronet þ The Cave BBS - Since 1992 - cavebbs.homeip.net * Origin: Vertrauen - [vert/cvs/bbs].synchro.net (1:103/705) .
