Subj : Long line test 2 To : Tommi Koivula From : Alexander Koryagin Date : Sun Oct 27 2019 17:46:54 Hi, Tommi Koivula ! I read your message from 27.10.2019 15:43 TK> There is just one line, but my terminal is now 120x48, so it wraps. TK> Which is ok. TK> If I remember correctly, there is a default setting in Thunderbird TK> to wrap nntp messages to 72 or so. There is a little problem at another Fidonet node (2:5020/2140). There, if a person (an NNTP user) sends a message via the local NNTP server the following thing happens: 1. At the NNTP server side we see correct simple text paragraphs, as long lines. 2. Traditional ftn users at that node (who use Golded) see the same simple text paragraphs sliced into short lines (about 72 symbols per line). But those ftn people who use narrow screen apps, like "Hotdog", see broken lines, because Hotdog wraps already sliced lines for the second time. A question - is it possible to turn on/off long lines slicing during the gating process (NNTP->Fido)? Bye, Tommi!
