Soil is mostly clay, but the horseyard is particularly hard because my darlings spend their days playing on it, stomping it, rolling on it, so the surface is extremely compacted and drainage is zero.

Then there is the fact the river is close nearby, underground water level is extremely close to surface, and humidity is high. So it is great in the sense everything is green and brimming with vegetation, but everything takes ages to dry.
