Subj : Todays Blooper To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Thu Mar 24 2022 14:40:00 Hi Daryl! DS> So much for the game show "I've Got A Secret"...but it gives DS> validity to the saying that "Three Can Keep A Secret, If Two Of DS> Them Are Dead". BM> Third goes off to find a fourth.... DS> That's about it. "I've got to tell someone! I've just _got- to tell somebody!!" DS> I've heard stories where a cop was in there, in full uniform, DS> eating... when this thug came in and tried to rob the place. DS> BUSTED!! BM> And was probably hiding in plain sight towards the back. DS> Dumb Dora and Dumb Donald are so dumb...("How Dumb Are DS> They??"). Believe it or not some of the dumb stuff does work! Helping the manager of the apartment building where I lived catch who was making a bunch of noise in the common stairs and hallways. Heard people come up the stairs (a little nosily, not the ones we were looking for) -- "quick: hide!". Like where? It's a _hallway_. Pressed ourselves up against the wall; the semi-noisy people continued up to the top of the stairs, turned the opposite direction, unlocked their door (so it would have been possible to see us from peripheral vision), and entered. Manager and I just looked at each other: "guess it does work!". BM> And now I shall return to the Zen of contemplating my navel. DS> Be part of the navel air force...try to force air through your DS> navel. That would be a really bad sign! BM> Well the good news is you're still around! (Other items were sent in BM> the e-mail.) DS> Yeah, I sent you a raspberry...although I could've mooned you, DS> and sent a fart. Love you too! BM> LIS it may be better to switch to other foods. A standard loaf of 99› BM> bread should be classified as a junk food. A nice dense nut-laden BM> 'European-style' bread is more expensive admittedly BUT you'll feel BM> fuller per slice PLUS probably has more nutrition per slice than the BM> whole load of 99› bread. Substitute a slice of cheese (not the BM> between- the-wrapper stuff) for the butter. (Actually butter the sold BM> in quarters kind would be an improvement over the tub of margarine.) DS> I finished off some Tyson chicken nuggets, and have been eating DS> lunch meat sandwiches, with the Buddig lunch meats (very thinly DS> sliced), and I split one piece of cheese...so one pack and one DS> slice gets 2 sandwiches. I also had bought some chocolate chip DS> cookies (Great Valu from Wal-Mart), and some Act II buttered DS> popcorn for snacks. Not a horrible lunch; I've had worse. I'm more concerned with the series of meals than the individual: the cumulative effect. BM> The forecast for today (Monday) is to hit the low 70's -- then a BM> possibility of snow showers on Thursday. DS> It's supposed to be dry here through next Tuesday. Cooled off here, as expected: does the cyclic heat-cold-heat-cold thing frequently in Spring. True to form as March came in like a lamb will be going out like a lion: windy with gusts 40-50 MPH next several days. May or may not have snow flurries on Monday. DS> Gives a whole new meaning to the term "eat me". :P BM> Watch where you have your fingers wile holding that sandwich! DS> Wash them after fighting with the cat in the litterbox. :P Yum! Tootsie Rolls! BM> Well sure! ...Semi-obviously you were talking about clearance bin food BM> by the "reasonably good". The quantity and quality work hand-in-hand. DS> I'm a frugal cheapskate. I'm only one step away from being DS> rich...all I need is money. Details, details! Personally I don't mind day-old/near expiry items, especially at clearance prices! Not quite sure about the ice cream dripping from the clearance carts but cheap is cheap! DS> With the fees with transportation, I can't eat out the rest of DS> the month. I may stay home until April. BM> There goes the economy! DS> Well, if my vision starts going, even if they can give medicine DS> to slow the glaucoma and macular degeneration, I'll either have DS> to give up driving at night, or give it up altogether. The latter DS> means "no more independence". That might qualify you for assistance. Not exactly my choice of a way to qualify, but.... BM> LIS they're forecasting show showers for Thursday and then that's BM> probably the last of it for the season. Probably no flooding this year BM> as already in a drought, though one heck of a rain storm can cause BM> flooding as the ground can't absorb it all that fast. DS> They had blizzard conditions in the Texas and Oklahoma DS> panhandles... while at the same time, north central and south DS> central Texas were getting tornadoes. I'll kepp my semi-boring weather up here, thanks! ¯ BarryMartin3@ ® ¯ @MyMetronet.NET ® ....
