That's one thing I don't miss in working in a silkscreen print shop...all the printing of political signs, bumper stickers, T-shirts, etc. One year, we were working late at night, and over the weekend to print these big signs for one candidate. Election Day was the upcoming Tuesday, and I asked the owner what the candidate was going to do, as he hadn't yet picked up all the signs. The owner said "We've got his money, I don't give a [censored] whether he picks up the signs or not". For the politicians, it was "100% cash on the barrelhead, pay in advance"...or we'd never see the money. Those 4x8 feet huge screens were a nightmare to work with and clean, let alone prepare for the next job. That's likely what started the arthritis over 20 years ago...and it has gotten worse by the day. I now have to use a cane to get around the house (which isn't handicapped accessible), and a walker when I go out on errands. The degenerative disk disease in my back and spine has made things even difficult for me to sit in a chair at the computer for a long time (even as I'm answering this QWK packet), or to stand for more than a minute at the sink, stove, microwave oven, toilet, or in the shower. I may have to go lie back down for a bit. The max pain pill I can take is the 500 mg OTC Tylenol caplets...and that's at 2 per day. Yet, with the risk of liver damage, I can't do it every day. If the pain is at a 2 or less on a scale of 0-10, I'll tough it out. After that, I've got to take a pill or two, but I'm so hypersensitive to anesthetics, pain medications, etc., they can knock me out within 30 minutes. BM> I think I'd be finding an alternative. But, with a medication from my pharmacy coming sometime today, I'm going to have to wait until Monday. I don't think I could even balance on a scooter, and although I still have my drivers license, I'm not planning on even renting a car, because of cost, limited income, and no credit history to speak of. I got rid of my credit cards when I filed Chapter 13 bankruptcy in 2009, and only have a debit card now. I never bothered to rebuild my credit after the bankruptcy. Weather wise, rain and some storms are forecast for much of the southeast half of Arkansas Tuesday into Wednesday, with heavy snow across northwest Arkansas; especially in the higher elevations. At least temperatures will warm rather quickly afterwards, and little impacts are expected across central, south, and east Arkansas...but severe weather may occur along the Gulf Coast...again. So, if we get storms Tuesday, the BBS will be down for a day. Or like the meme with the father mowing the grass, but his pants are down to where his underwear is showing. His son asks his Mom why his Dad is wearing his pants like that, and she said "He'll stop wearing them that way the moment you do likewise". :P Even if they knew what that symbolized, most would do it anyway. That area, except for bona fide medical issues, is "exit only". BM> I have considered getting a postage scale but the cost of the scale BM> outweighs the cost savings of putting on an extra stamp. You can only renew the box and pay for it within 30 days of its expiration, for either a 6 month or 1 year period. Daryl ....
