Subj : Condolences, etc. To : Daryl Stout From : Barry Martin Date : Mon Dec 06 2021 08:06:00 Hi Daryl! (Original reply to August) AA> Seriously? If the world revolves around him as you say, I would think AA> such a person would NOT harm himself to that degree. DS> I really don't know...the impression I get is that "he lives in DS> his own little world". He has no hobbies, and can't stand being DS> at home alone. If he's stuck at home with a bad snow or ice storm DS> (as we've had in Arkansas), he's "climbing the walls" from DS> boredom. DS> He also hates cooking at home, and eats out every day (I don't DS> see how he can afford it). He probably goes to the same two or three restaurants where he is known, so the staff has become his surrogate family and friends. They wait on him (which he craves), maybe slide a free dessert or beverage every so often to cheer him up.... As for the cost of eating out, one of my bosses when I was working at the college was single and ate out constantly. He claimed it was overall cheaper than preparing the meal at home. He lived in an apartment (at the time so did I), so don't have to include the cost of a refrigerator and stove.... Personally I generally liked the 'doing something different' of cooking -- take a break from studying or building/repair of the current electronics project, etc. ¯ BarryMartin3@ ® ¯ @MyMetronet.NET ® ....
