Drinking and eating is the big cash-grabber, so would almost have to rob Peter to pay Paul: minimize stuff like heat and air conditioning and apply that money to his Hooters bill. As for the 'visiting relatives', possibly a reaction to a seasoning and/or flavour enhancer like MSG, but seems odd if you go to differennt restaurants you'd get the same reaction. Maybe the excitement and instead of 'gushing with joy' it comes out the opposite way. Cuts the calorie intake some, plus I can taste the filling portion better.
