If you are stuck using their route with the bad ports wondering if 
something like this work as in interface?  Ethernet Adapter, ASIN 
B08T5YDK49   (Amazon).  I got one a while back because one of the clips 
in the port was missing and didn't realize it until past return. Glued 
(around the edges!!) and now the Ethernet cable stays in.
