Somewhere I heard that there were more lawsuits in the 1800's when
they first came out than there are today..

Okay.. I finally found a note I'd made on that and apparently in an
episode of Dr Quinn Medicine Woman, they said that a higher percentage
of people sued each other in the 1800's than they do today.

That said, the numbers definitely have been going up constantly over
the past 25 or more years.
