There is legislation in congress that speaks to creating a central authority over every non-human craft/bio-matter event or holdings, by every government agency.

Of course if the event was private sector or moved to the private sector the new law wouldn't work to consolidate that information.

This new office then is supposed to release everything they safely can.

Now whether than mean almost nothing or almost everything, well who knows.

Have such a law presumes that there is materials the law would affect.  Setting up an agency to review presumes there is something to review.

So while any details remain unconfirmable that "there is something out there" seems reaffirmed by congress feeling compelled to legislate on the topic.
