Subj : A Gentleman And a Scholar To : All From : warmfuzzy Date : Wed Dec 13 2023 12:24:27 A rather new saying in the Intelligence Community's lexicon of spook talk to common talk is the phrase "a gentleman and a scholar." This refers to someone who is both or either sophisticated and/or someone who would write books about their experience in the IC. You really don't want to be known as someone who is a scholar as that means that you would write books or articles about your experiences in the Intelligence Community. The short form for "a gentleman and a scholar" works out to G.A.S., which means that if you were to go public you'd be gassed to death for your improprieties. You do NOT want to be called a gentleman and a scholar. You really don't. Being called such marks you as a fool who would reveal secrets. Totally not what you want to be known as/ You have been warned.
