Subj : Modern General Drug Screening To : All From : warmfuzzy Date : Wed Jul 19 2023 01:29:11 I just had a full-scale blood workup and one of those things that was on that list was a drug screen. Now I don't use illegal drugs, not legal drugs, but only prescriptions. So I take L-Dexadrine to help counter my clinical exhaustion that's been bothering me for years. On the drug screen I was tested positive for amphetamines. My doctor was mentioning about the various patient's of hers that never expect urine samples to be so full of information about what they consume. There were even drug tests for the precursor chemicals that are used in purifying various street drugs. So even if your drug of choice isn't detected in the screen the chemicals that are produced or included in the formulation of drugs can themselves be an indicator of the use of street drugs. I am very privileged to be prescribed the L-Dexadrine that I take daily to be able to function properly, but even if your prescription is a fair ways off from the standard chemical it can still read positive. What I mean here is that L-Dexies are not common, with most positive tests being mostly for the regular Dexadrine or other common amphetamine derivatives. So even though my drug was uncommon it was still similar enough to post a positive result in my drug screen. For those people that would freak out when people mention that they are taking controlled substances, be certain, this is a prescribed medicine for a legitimate mental health condition. I don't do street drugs, nor do I promote the use of street drugs. I'm simply posting this to start some discussion about how effective drug screens can be and how this relates to the detection of various serums.
