I use these exact hidden volumes on my Tails instances... both partitions and files, you can obfuscate date in either - and while theres ways an adversary might THINK you have m0re data... theres absolutely no way to KNOW. That being said, it won't really save you from the guillotine - but it will save your data from eyes that CAN'T see it.
