Subj : The Abomination of Desolation

I've been a Christian for several decades now and have read/listened to the
Holy Bible several times.  When I have read it I've been puzzled with what
the "Abomination of Desolation" as talked about in Revelation is really all
about.  In my sight it is 1) abomination (very evil and 2) brings desolation
exreme poverty in many forms)... so I've been thinking what might fit that
criteria.  Here's what I'm thinking.

It is probably something Evil of the highest order... what might that be? 
Well I'm thinking that its probably some sort of machine fashioned after the
Beast (the anti-christ).  It would be something that encourages people to
blaspheme the Holy Spirit and reward people with the coveted Mark of the
Beast.  Basically people would be trading their souls for prosperity.  By
blaspheming the Holy Spirit people are damned eternally, with no forgiveness.
Only something that Evil would really fit the bill.  So I'm imagining
something like an interactive obilesk that forces people to blaspheme the
Holy Spirit or die, and for those that blaspheme in this way would be living
the high life (until they realized that they've given up any chance of being
saved).

So, some points to ponder:
1) Don't blaspheme the Holy Spirit: There is no going back
2) Don't receive the Mark of the Beast, the number 666 (the number of the
Beast), or his symbol
3) Don't hate on God, you life is in His hands
4) Read the Holy Bible, knowledge is power.
