Subj : EBITDA vs retained earnings

Am I right in thinking that, given retained earnings is net income minus any dividend payments to shareholders, retained earnings factors in more expenses that EBITDA, which just covers interest, taxes, depreciation and appreciation? So retained earnings will also cover expenses like employee compensation packages?
