I wish I had gotten into Ham instead of CB's Da> of coarse My cb's will go into ham I think 10 meter dont know for sure I also spent many years on CBs. Mostly on local channels being a dumb kid doing dumb things. I also ran a decent amount of power and "shot skip" quite a lot. A few years ago, I dusted off a few radios, slapped an antenna on my car and got a second hand TS-667 and started in again. It was a good time and I made a lot of good contacts on AM. However, the locals in my new area really soured me on it and one in particular couldn't take a harmless joke and kept threatening me and forced me to pack it up again. Bollocks. However, in the interim years since I last picked up a mic in the late 90's, I realized I far outgrew the still typical CB user and am not all that upset to be rid of it. I did enjoy the technical aspect of compiling a rig worthy of nationwide status, especially for a mobile. Being in a condo, even putting a di-pole on the buildings roof, didn't lend itself to a proper base station that I would have liked. It's amazing how far the hobby has come since I last keyed down. The stations like Bassmaster in Florida and Motor Mouth Maul in Cali with their modified HiFi audio radios and computer aided watergates and such. I was tempted to go all in myself but got back into cycling instead. It was fun while it lasted. --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A39 2018/04/21 (Windows/32) * Origin: Black Flag blackflagbbs.com (9:91/17) .
