Install a camper shell on a half-ton? Are you worried about the weight?

Maybe I'm missing something.

I've been enamored with VW Wesfalia Vanagon Synchros - a full-fledged camper 
with AWD that sleeps 4 and can go on dirt roads to get away from it all is a 
great idea.

Another car that I love but would never buy is a UAZ Expedition. No safety 
equipment at all barring a couple of seatbelts (2 keys is listed as a 
"feature") but infinite possibilities as a conversion.
