FULL STORY ====================================================================== Spoilers for Outlander: Blood of My Blood episode 6 ahead. Outlander: Blood of My Blood episode 6 has delivered the most shocking twist yet now that we're over halfway through the series. In fact, "delivered" is an apt description for the latest installment of the hit Starz and Amazon MGM+ series, as Julia (Hermione Corfield) gives birth to her second child. However, that's not the heartwarming moment you might think it is. After traveling back in time, Julia has found herself working as a housemaid for Lord Lovat (Tony Curran), deciding to sleep with him to pass off her and Henrys (Jeremy Irvine) child as Lovats own. Servant Davina Porter (Sara Vickers) accuses Julia mid-labor of just this, causing a group of locals to gang up on her. But it's not just a standard case of cruelty. In flashbacks, we learn Lord Lovat has sexually assaulted Davina multiple times, with Davina's own mistress later claiming she brought her fate upon herself. Davina helps Julia to give birth, but by the time this news trickles down to Henry, a midwife has been paid off to tell him the pair died, being buried in an unknown grave. There's no doubt that Outlander: Blood of My Blood episode 6 is an incredibly tough watch when considering all the emotions that feature in less than an hour. However, it's what happens next that gives us a little bit of insight into what will happen in season 2, reminding us that Henry and Julia will find their way back to each other once again. Outlander: Blood of My Blood episode 6 is the start of an important alliance between Julia and Brian (Image credit: Starz) Here's where our original Outlander knowledge comes into play. We know the prequel is following the intersecting stories of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie's (Sam Heughan) parents, despite the fact they are each born decades apart. Jamie's dad Brian (Jamie Roy) is Lord Lovat's son, and Julia has been helping him to see Ellen (Harriet Slater) without his knowledge. When Julia confides what has happened to him, Brian immediately comes to her defense and an important new allyship is born. At the beginning, shes almost invisible to him as the maidservant and then hes wary of her because he thinks shes got strange intentions in terms of being with Lovat. Once shes honest and open and vulnerable with him, he fully takes her on, Corfield told The Hollywood Reporter . Though he's whipped for getting involved, Brian promises to be a protector for Julia and her new baby. Given the fact that Henry is deep in the throes of PTSD after believing Julia and the baby died, there's going to be a long way to go until the pair are eventually reunited (and the fact season 2 is already in production confirms they will be). In a nutshell, Brian and Julia are now going to be essential to the others' survival, but it's going to be a uphill battle for both couples to be able to find and stay with each other. Irvine adds: The season definitely ends on a crescendo, so its building up and up. The story would be over if Julia was gone for him entirely, so yes, there might be a meeting again. "And then theres some very awkward questions to be asked from both of them. They put unconditional love to the test.
