I just have the client setup to connect to mrc.bottomlessabyss.net on port 
5000:

python ./mrc_client.py mrc.bottomlessabyss.net 5000


p.s:  You may want to edit this line in mrc_client.py:

clogfile = "%s%smrcchat.log" % (mrcdir, os.sep)

By default it will write an mrcchat.log to your mystic/data directory logging 
everything said in MRC while the mrc_client.py script is connect, whether 
you're in the door chatting or not.  This file can grow quite large if left 
unattended.
