Okay, thanks to both of you.

But that's exactly what I didn't want ;-)

I'm searching for an alternative to pygopherd's web server part so that I  
could serve the gopher content via a web frontend.

Hmm, so I might want to use pygopherd although it seems to be inactive  
since Jan 2020...
But I found an active fork which seems to is a Python3 version:

I have to dig into this now :)
