The only answer I could think to give you for your question, is to find a video on YouTube on repairing the old Commodore 64 PSU's. It is the only thing I can think of to compare it to. What I got from a quick search is, "Using heat, tools, or solvents to seperate the resin from the componates." So a lot of accetone and a dremmel tool? Sorry I could not be more help.
