Subj : Re: North American QSO Party - RTTY To : Rug Rat From : Rug Rat Date : Sun Jul 20 2025 12:30 pm Well! July NAQP - RTTY has come and gone. With enough fun and disapointment to shake a stick at! A lot less precontest trials and frustration during the contest came from knowing the software and how N3FJP and FLDIGI interface with each other. There are some things I need to test in a non contest setting, that I am just not sure of. I also either need to get a larger monitor for my ham radio setup, as having both windows up side by side would be a big help! - One frustration is that FLDIGI either sometimes does not pick up that a station I am about to work is a dupe, or there is a delay through the API network from N3FJP to FLDIGI. One thing I noticed about RTTY contests is that stations do not seem to be as picky about replying, "DUPE DUPE DUPE!!!". ** That should be another topic of discussion, Do you delete dupes from your log post contest?! Band conditions were poor, 10m did not open like it did in January! I knew at the halfway mark, that unless conditions really improved there was NO WAY I was going to even match my score from January let alone beat it! Here is the comparison I made for both contests. While I did A LOT better on 20m, my 40m performance was basically the same (My vertical sucks on the lower bands! I plan to get a dipole setup for next year). 15m was not that great and not having 10m really hurt! The interesting thing, I did hear phone activity on 10m, but no RTTY what so ever.
