Comparisons are made based on the time # required to perform each of three tasks: factor the matrix # given an unordered matrix, factor a previously ordered # matrix, and compute the solution to a matrix equation given # a factored matrix. Times were measured on a vax8650 under # Ultrix1.2 and are given in seconds.
