.TH MCONFIG 8 "16 February 1996" .SH NAME mconfig \- configure an SNMP-capable MBone router .SH SYNOPSIS .B mconfig [ .I options ] [ .I router ] .SH DESCRIPTION .IX "mconfig command" "" "\fLmconfig\fP \(em display MBone status" .IX "MBone status, display \(em \fLmconfig\fP" .IX "status of MBone, display" "" "status of MBone, display \(em \fLmconfig\fR" .LP .B mconfig displays the MBone configuration of an SNMP-capable multicast router, and allows modifying the configuration if the user knows an appropriate community string. .LP The default value for the .I router argument is the localhost. .SH OPTIONS All options can be abbreviated to the least unambiguous prefix. .TP 15 .B \-help Print summary of command-line options and abort. .TP .B \-addronly Display IP addresses in place of hostnames. .B mconfig normally displays hostnames. .TP .BI \-community " community" Use the specified SNMP community instead of the public community. .TP .BI \-retries " retries" Maximum number of retransmissions before giving up (default 5). .TP .BI \-timeout " seconds" Use the specified time delay in seconds (default 1). .TP .BI \-display " display" X display to use. .TP .BI \-geometry " geometry" Initial geometry for window. .TP .B \-sync Use synchronous mode for display server. .SH MENU This window allows the user to change such parameters as the community string in use, remote host, port number, and whether to display hostnames or IP addresses. The community string defaults to the public community, and modifications to configuration information is disabled. To enable remote configuration, a private community string must be specified on the command line, or in the appropriate place in this window. Only asterisks will be echoed when entering the community string. .SH MODES .SS "System Information" .LP This mode displays such system information as the hostname, router version, description, location, contact information, and uptime. If any community string other than public is in use, the description, location and contact information may be changed by selecting the Edit button. .PP .SS "DVMRP Virtual Interface Table" .LP This mode displays the VIFs configured, including the local and remote addresses, metric, threshold, rate limit, current operational state, and administrative state. Unless the public community is in use, tunnels can be added, modified, and deleted, and subnets can be modified. A created tunnel will initially be in the notReady admin state until tunnel endpoints have been specified. Double-clicking on a tunnel will force .B mconfig to begin configuration of the remote endpoint. .PP .SS "DVMRP Neighbor Table" .LP This mode displays the DVMRP neighbors of the current router. Double-clicking on a row will force .B mconfig to begin configuration of the neighbor. .PP .SS "Boundary Table" .LP This mode displays any administratively scoped boundaries, and allows creation and deletion of boundaries. .PP .SS "AltNet Table" .LP This mode displays any alternate subnets for VIFs, and allows creation and deletion of alternate subnet entries. .PP .SH "SEE ALSO" .BR mrouted (8), .BR mstat (8) .
