About me

I'm a tinkerer. I don't know much but I've been playing with Linux
since the days of Red Hat 6 and before the time of
"always-on-broadband-internet".

I'm a TV/Radio Transmitter engineer by trade - started working for
the BBC in 1988 and have been doing the same job ever since.

My interests include
====================

Radio - Amateur Radio and Short Wave Listening

Computers - I don't write code (much)

I keep a daily Diary - on paper, written with fountain pen and
sketches in pen/watercolour

I play chess most days, but I'm not good at it

I'm married 

We have had dogs (mostly Lurchers) for the last 33+ years and
currently have 2 -> Twist (Bedlington Terrier) & Moth (Collie
Lurcher)

HP and Swiss Micros RPN calculators

Watching Cricket on the TV and listening to Test Match Special (I
miss the days of 198kHz Long-Wave though)

I've been a runner and done triathlons but currently I'm struggling
with Rheumatoid Arthritis, which means I'm not as fit or active as
I used to be. Getting Old Sucks.

I dabble with typewriters

I do black and white film photography occasionally
