Wrong Person/Right Room: <npcfirstname> rises and declares angrily, "You're wrong!! You've got the right room, but I was the one who used the <murder_weapon> to kill <victimfirstname>!"
Wrong Person/Wrong Room: Very slipshod of you inspector. <npcfullname> murdered <victimfullname>. And the murder was committed in the <murder_room>, not in the <current_room>.
Took too long & Questioned Murderer: <npcfullname> locks the door and turns toward you. "I'm sick and tired of your snooping. I killed <victimfirstname> in the <murder_room> with the <murder_weapon> and now I'm going to get rid of you! I'm afraid that you're investigation is over!!"
<npcfirstname> turns abruptly to face you and says, "It's no business of yours!"
<npcfirstname> does not respond to your question.
<npcfirstname> pays no attention to your question.
<npcfirstname> stares defiantly at you, but says nothing.
1: <npcfirstname> shrugs nonchalantly and says, "<npcfirstname> and I spent the entire evening together in the <room>. You've got your work cut out for you on this one, inspector. None of us cared much for <victimfirstname>, and that's the truth. Frankly, whoever did it deserves a medal."
2: <npcfirstname> replies distractedly, "I spent the entire evening alone in the <room>. Now I suppose that looks bad for me, doesn't it? But you must believe that I could never have hurt anyone. And I certainly couldn't have killed <victimfirstname>... I just couldn't."
3: <npcfirstname> replies haughtily, "I spent the entire evening with <npcfirstname> in the parlor. Of course we both despised <victimfirstname>--but then, so did everyone else in the house. Frankly, I think you should just leave well enough alone."
4: <npcfirstname> sneers wickedly and replies, "I spent the entire evening with <npcfirstname> in the <room>. And I simply cannot believe that anyone in this house would have had the bad taste to commit murder... Though I sometimes think that <npcfirstname> is capable of almost anything."
5: <npcfirstname> shrugs nonchalantly and says, "<npcfirstname> and I spent the entire evening together in the ballroom. Far be it from me to meddle in your affairs, inspector, but I really think you should question <npcfirstname>. Why just the other day <npcfirstname> told me that <victimfirstname> would be better off dead."
6: <npcfirstname> draws you closer and whispers, "I spent the entire evening alone in the kitchen. So, I guess I'm your prime suspect, inspector. But I think you're going to find that I didn't have any reason to murder <victimfirstname>."
7: <npcfirstname> looks up from the floor and says, "I spent the entire evening with <npcfirstname> in the <room>. Why, I didn't even find out about <victimfirstname>'s death until right before you arrived. Isn't it awful. Who do you think could do such a thing!?!"
8: <npcfirstname> forces a laugh and replies, "<npcfirstname> and I spent the entire evening together in the <room>. Now just between you and me and the walls, inspector, I admired <victimfirstname> greatly. Wouldn't want the others to know about my little soft spot though.
9: <npcfirstname> turns away from you and murmurs, "I spent the entire evening with <npcfirstname> in the <room>.... I'm just so shocked by this whole affair. Murder is such an ugly business, don't you think? Of course I've heard that <npcfirstname> doesn't share my opinion on that point..."
10: <npcfirstname> turns to face you and whispers, "I spent the entire evening alone in the <room>. I realize that's not much of an alibi, but you must believe me when I say that I had no reason to kill <victimfirstname>. No reason at all."
11: <npcfirstname> laughs lightly and replies, "I spent the entire evening with <npcfirstname> in the <room>. Now... is that all you wanted to know? I really would like to go lie down if you don't mind. All of this murder business has given me a splitting headache."
12: <npcfirstname> replies in an angry voice, "I spent the entire evening with <npcfirstname> in the <room>. And I simply cannot believe that anyone in this house would have had the bad taste to commit murder.... Though I sometimes think that <npcfirstname> is capable of almost anything."
13: <npcfirstname> raises an eyebrow and says, "<npcfirstname> and I spent the entire evening together in the <room>. Actually, in my opinion, there's no one in this house with the intellectual capacity to commit murder and get away with it. Except for myself, of course. Too bad I have an alibi!"
14: <npcfirstname> looks up from the floor and says, "I spent the entire evening with <npcfirstname> in the <room>. So, as you can see, I couldn't have had anything to do with this heinous crime. Now why don't you go talk to someone who had reason to see <victimfirstname> dead. <npcfirstname>, for example."
15: <npcfirstname> shrugs nonchalantly and says, "<npcfirstname> and I spent the entire evening together in the <room>. So I guess I misssed out on my chance to be the prime suspect, didn't I? It's such a shame--I would so enjoy being suspected of murder!
16: <npcfirstname> forces a laugh and says, "I spent the entire evening with <npcfirstname> in the <room>. So don't you think you're wasting your time here with me, inspector? Why don't you give your little investigation a boost by checking out <npcfirstname>'s story?
17: <npcfullname> answers in an annoyed voice, "<npcfirstname> and I spent the entire evening together in the <room>. And as I recall, neither of us left at any time while this whole ghastly murder business was taking place. I'm afraid I just can't help you out, inspector."
18: <npcfirstname> replies haughtily, "I spent the entire evening alone in the <room>. I suppose you assume that I killed <victimfirstname> just because I haven't an alibi, but I never cared one way or the other about that little manipulator. You'll just have to take my word."
19: <npcfirstname> looks up from the floor and says, "<npcfirstname> and I spent the entire evening together in the <room>. So, I guess I really don't have any information to help you in your investigation. I do know, however, that <npcfirstname> had some kind of argument with <victimfirstname> just yesterday."
20: <npcfirstname> sighs heavily and replies, "<npcfirstname> and I spent the entire evening together in the <room>. So, while I'm not exactly grieving over <victimfirstname>'s little accident, I simply didn't have the opportunity to have killed anyone."
21: <npcfirstname> replies distractedly, "<npcfirstname> and I spent the entire evening together in the <room>. So, I'm afraid you'll have to look elsewhere for your killer. Though, for your own safety, I suggest you refrain from doing too much snooping around."
22: <npcfirstname> answers in an annoyed voice, "I spent the entire evening with <npcfirstname> in the <room>. And let me tell you inspector, that I deeply resent being questioned about <victimfirstname>'s death. There is simply no way that I could have killed <victimfirstname>. We were much too close."
23: <npcfirstname> voids your eyes and murmers, "I spent the entire evening with <npcfirstname> in the <room>. We were playing backgammon the whole time. And I really don't recall hearing or seeing anything unusual at any time. The house was really fairly quiet."
24: <npcfirstname> turns away from you and murmurs, "I spent the entire evening alone in the kitchen. And I'm afraid that nobody saw me. But I hope you're not so silly as to suspect me of the crime. Why, I hardly knew <victimfirstname>, and I certainly had no reason to commit murder."
1: <npcfirstname> turns slowly and responds, "As I told you before, <npcfirstname> and I spent the entire evening in the <room>. That's all that I can think of to say."
2: <npcfirstname> turns slowly and responds, "I've already told you that I spent the entire evening alone in the <room>. I can't think of anything else to add."
<victimfullname> was brutally murdered only hours ago. The body was removed by persons unknown from the murder scene. You are now standing at the front door of the <victimlastname> estate. The door is open.

A toy train engine lies on the floor next to the bed.
It is a scale model of the Twentieth Century Limited.
A marble bookend sits on one of the shelves against the north wall.
The bookend is quite heavy.

A blue vase sits on the center of the table.
The vase is made of an attractive blue glass. It is quite heavy.
A bright brass pot hangs from the ceiling.
It's so shiny you can see yourself in it!
A bottle of cooking sherry sits on a butcher block table.
The cooking sherry is rather tasty.
A jar of preserves is balances precariously on one of the shelves.
They seem to be orange preserves imported from Britain.

The electrical cord is badly frayed. It looks very dangerous.
