Red Faction 2 Bonus Objectives Guide: May 23, 2003 by Alan Chan (joylock@hotmail.com) The Usual: This document is mine. Please don't rip it off or take credit for it. That being said, feel free to post it on any site you want, provided you a) don't make any changes to it, and b) don't charge money for it. You don't even have to get my permission to post it (as long as it remains unaltered), but it would be nice if you emailed me and let me know (joylock@hotmail.com). Why?: Since no one else has written a bonus objective FAQ, I decided to do so. I'm 90% sure I've gotten all the bonus objectives, but I don't guarantee it 100%. Note: I only cover the optional bonus objectives. In the second half of the game you'll gain heroics points for achieving regular objectives, but since they're part of the regular gameplay and impossible to miss I haven't listed them. Mission 1: In Foreign Lands Complex Exterior: No Bonus Objectives Containment Facility: 1) Reset the automated turret Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Instead of destroying the turret guarding the elevator in the Nano-Cell chamber, get behind it to throw a switch that reprograms it to attack your enemies. Tips: Use your NICW's grenades to blow a hole in the wall (do this far away from the turret, if you accidentally destroy it you won't be able to achieve this objective). Walk through the hole to get to the corridor behind the turret. Mission 2: Public Information Building Lobby Level: 1) Exit the booth via a Geo-Mod hole Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Instead of waiting for Molov to kick open the door and let you out of the booth, use your grenade launcher to blast a hole in the wall and leave yourself. Tips: Just blast open the wall next to Molov. He won't mind. You may need to use two grenades to make a hole big enough for you to fit through. Act quickly, if you wait for Molov to kill all the guards and kick open the door you won't be able to achieve this bonus objective. Admin Area: 1) Disable the turret with an objective charge Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: Instead of destroying the turret with your grenade launcher, use explosives to tunnel through the cubicles and get behind the turret. Press the USE key to plant the objective charge, this will blow up the turret and give you some heroic points. Tips: The turret can still shoot at you through gaps in the corners of the cubicles. A single hit will take away an entire life bar, so move quickly, hug the wall furthest away from the turret, and only try this objective if you have spare medi-kits. Propaganda Studios: 1) Disrupt Sopot's broadcast Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: In the TV broadcast studio where you meet up with Repta, a pair of Sopot Elite Guards are inside the control room. Launch a grenade through the control room window to blow it up and achieve this objective. Tips: If you don't blow up the control room yourself, eventually Repta will do it for you with his NICW's grenades. You'll still get the bonus, however. 2) Destroy Sopot's media archive Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Just past the broadcast control room you blew up is a room filled with shelves containing many boxes of media tapes. Destroy all the boxes with grenades to achieve this objective. Tips: Use grenades to destroy all the tapes quickly. Be sure to kill all the enemies in the room first. 3) Find the fastest way out Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: In the second broadcasting studio, an explosion will eventually loosen the catwalk above you. Shoot it with a grenade after it comes loose to knock it down completely, opening the path to the next level and granting you the bonus. Tips: If you don't blow up the catwalk, it will eventually fall down on its own. However if this happens you will not receive the bonus. In the Rain: 1) Disable the radar control console Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Inside the central building should be a room behind a wire mesh window, with several monitor consoles. Blow up all the monitor consoles to achieve this objective. Tips: The area you're looking for is behind the second door into the building (you can get to it through the first door, but you'd have to fight your way past a large Sopot Elite Guard ambush). To the Rooftop: 1) Find bonus weapon! Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: When you enter the building where you fight Sopot's gunship, use your grenade launcher to blow a hole in the wall near the bottom of the staircase. Walk through the hole to find a hidden area, climb the ladder to find a WASP and complete the objective. Tips: The WASP regenerates ever minute, so if you use it to defeat the gunship you can come back and refill your ammo before leaving with Shrike for the next level. Mission 3: Shrike's Wild Ride Search and Destroy: 1) Decimate building security forces Difficulty: Hard How to Get It: Kill all the enemies before exiting the level Tips: On the first fly-by of the building, most of the people inside the building are civilians, and it's difficult to shoot the few guards without hitting the civvies too. On the second fly-by all the civilians will have taken cover (except for one cowering janitor in a yellow vest, who's pretty easy to spot), so you can basically spam the building with rockets to kill all the enemies. Look carefully, some guards are camped deep inside the building and can be difficult to spot. A couple are hidden behind a destroyable wall on the far side of the building (spam with rockets and you should find it). It's tough to kill every single enemy, but you should be able to do it after playing the mission a few times. Aerial Encounters: 1) Destroy gunship refueling station Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Blow up all four fuel tanks (the large white drums) at the refueling station Tips: Shrike moves past the refueling station too quickly for you to destroy all four fuel tanks the first time he flies by it. The second time he flies by, he'll hover over the station for a minute or two, giving you plenty time to blow the fuel tanks up with your missiles. Brothers-In-Arms: 1) Destroy military convoy Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Blow up all the trucks in the military convoy on the bridge after the first fly-by over the Red Faction outpost. Tips: You have to destroy all the trucks, if one gets away you won't be rewarded with the bonus. Be sure to use locked-on missiles to get accurate hits, and use your machinegun while you're waiting for the missile launcher to reload. 2) Aid RF troops in streets Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Blow up all enemy ATVs in the level. You'll be rewarded with this bonus after destroying the last pair of ATV's just before your second pass over the RF outpost. Tips: Use locked-on missiles to easily destroy the ATVs, most ATVs are parked in pairs and blowing up one usually destroys the other. Most of the ATVs are parked near the RF outpost, but there's one last pair immedietely after the truck convoy. 3) Destroy Battle Armor Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Blow up the Battle Armor that attacks during the second fly-by of the Red Faction outpost. Tips: The Battle Armor can take lots of damage (about 9 or 10 missiles hits), but it stands still and you have relatively plenty of time to destroy it. Launch rockets into it and fire off your machinegun while waiting for the rockets to reload. 4) Defend RF outpost Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: You achieve this objective if all of the Red Faction fighters at the outpost are still alive after the second fly-by, just before you fly off to fight the Processed. Tips: Just blow up all the ATVs surrounding the outpost, then use rockets to kill all the soldiers that appear. There aren't all that many enemies attacking the outpost, and most of them focus on you rather than the Red Faction, so this objective isn't too difficult. Every once in a while an enemy soldier or the Battle Armor gets a lucky shot and kills a few Red Faction fighters, causing you to fail the objective. Be sure not to attack the people in yellow and red uniforms on top of and around the outpost building, they're Red Faction members and killing them will lower your heroics and fail the objective. 5) Defend RF from the Processed Difficulty: Hard How to Get It: Kill most of the Processed attacking the Red Faction members under the bridge. Tips: This objective is somewhat difficult to achieve since Shrike flies by so quickly, and also since you have to aim your rockets carefully to avoid kill Red Faction members with the splash damage. Mission 4: Underground Alone in the Dark: No Bonus Objectives The Train! The Train!: No Bonus Objectives Rush Hour: No Bonus Objectives The Bridge: No Bonus Objectives Mission 5: Tank on the Town Tank Gunner: 1) Find the shortcut Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: After Shrike cuts through the construction yard and busts through the 'tight squeeze', there should be a wall with a parking garage in front of you. Blow a couple holes in the wall with the cannon, and Shrike will take a shortcut through it. Tips: If you take the shortcut, when you exit the garage and go down a road, be sure to look right when you reach the end of the road (when Echo and Quill are arguing on the radio)... the 3rd ATV is there off in the distance, and you'll need to destroy it to achieve the next objective. 2) Destroy all ATVs Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Destroy all five ATVs in the level. Tips: The first pair of ATVs appear directly in your path at the beginning of the level, and are easily destroyed. The 3rd ATV is mid-way through the level, but if you take the shortcut you'll have to watch for it at the end of a long road since it's not directly in your path. The final pair of ATVs also aren't directly in your path. Look to your left at the end of the alley after the trailers and gunship to spot them. Blow them up quickly, they're very close to the end of the level. 3) Shoot down a gunship Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: After you hear Echo talking about free elections on the radio, Shrike will run over a fence just as a gunship drops down in front of you and starts shooting you. Blast the gunship with your cannon to achieve this objective. Tips: One shot should do it. Just be quick, the gunship isn't going to be there forever. 4) Topple the trailers Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Where the gunship attacks you, to your right are a pair of trailers. Blast one of them with your cannon to get the bonus. Tips: Be sure to do this quickly, you can't hurt the trailers once Shrike drives too far away from them. Traffic Congestion: 1) Destroy all five-ton trucks Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: At the very beginning of the level, a series of three trucks will appear to drop off soldiers, blow up all three to complete the objective. Tips: It's possible to miss the last truck if you're not paying attention. It appears at the very end of the road just before you turn the corner. 2) Save Red Faction members from the Processed Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: When you turn the corner, you'll see a tank ahead of you, a Processed standing left of the tank, and several Processed coming out of the alley to the right of the tank. Shortly after, a pair of Red Faction fighters will rush forward and camp to the left of your tank. Prevent the Processed from killing either of these two fighters to achieve the objective (you won't be rewarded with it until you reach the overpass). Tips: As soon as you turn the corner, use your cannon to blow up the Processed to your left. If you wait for the RF fighters to show up, they get in between you and this Processed, making it impossible to shoot it with killing them as well. Blow up the Processed that emerge from the alley to your right before they can lurch too close to the RF fighters. 3) Disable the overpass Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: In the the background behind the tank, you should be able to see a highway overpass off in the distance. Blow it up with three or four shells to achieve this objective. This will also prevent the second tank from attacking you when you reach the overpass. Tips: It can be difficult to hit the overpass since it's so far off into the distance. Try aiming your cannon slightly above it to account for the effect of gravity on your shells. It's tougher but still possible to destroy the overpass and still kill all the Processed. First, destroy the tank and the first two groups of Processed that emerge from the right. After the second group you can concentrate on shooting at the overpass, as Shrike will run over the third group of Processed with the tank. 4) Destroy all enemy gunships Difficulty: VERY hard How to Get It: Destroy all four enemy gunships that appear in the level. Tips: The first gunship hovers in front of you when you finally reach the overpass, and is easily destroyed. The second gunship hovers in front of you when you turn the corner in the overpass, and is also easily destroyed. The third and fourth gunships, however, are very difficult to destroy. They appear at the same time at the end of the long overpass road, and instead of hovering in front of you will simply fly by at top speed. To make matters worse the highway signs will block your shots, and Shrike will drive the tank through the floor shortly after they appear, messing up your aim. Road to the Citadel: 1) Assist Red Faction forces Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: At the beginning of the level, you meeting up with three Red Faction fighters who quickly come under attack from a Battle Armor. Destroy the Battle Armor before it manages to kill one of the Red Faction members to achieve this objective. Tips: It's fairly easy to kill the Battle Armor quickly enough, just use a combination of shells and machine-gun fire. Even once in a while Shrike will drive too fast and accidentally run over the Red Faction members, if this happens just restart the level. 2) Destroy water tower Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: After destroying the first Battle Armor, you'll go round a corner and off in the distance will be a second Battle Armor being attacked by a group of malfunctioning Processed. In the background skyline behind the Battle Armor a water tower should be visible. Launch a tank shell to destroy the tower to achieve this objective. Tips: It's fairly easy to hit the tower (just aim a little above it to compensate for gravity), what's nearly impossible to destroying both the tower and the Battle Armor within the limited amount of time you're given. It's best to ignore the Battle Armor and gun exclusively for the tower. 3) Destroy both checkpoint security stations Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: When Shrike asks you if you think a Tank is a valid ID, launch a tank shell into the two guard boothes at the checkpoint to destroy them and achieve this objective. Tips: You have plenty of time to do this and no other distractions to bother you, so this should be a very easy objective. 4)Disrupt power to the Citadel Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Blow up one of the four electrical towers in the level. Tips: The electrical towers appear in the background just after the two checkpoint boothes, they're very big targets and one or two shells should be all you need to destroy them. 5) Destroy all electrical towers Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Destroy all four electrical towers in the level. Tips: Three of the towers appear in the background on the long road after the checkpoint during your fight with the 3rd Battle Armor. The fourth tower appears immedietely to your right just after you exit the tunnel. 6) Destroy all Battle Armor Difficulty: Hard How to Get It: Destroy all three Battle Armor units in the level. Tips: It's very difficult to destroy all of the Battle Armors and achieve all of the other bonus objectives, since the level moves by quite quickly and you'll usually encounter the Battle Armors at the same time as other bonus targets. It's best to forget about this bonus objective, since if you ignore the 2nd and 3rd Battle Armor it becomes fairly easy to achieve all the other bonus objectives of the level. The 1st Battle Armor blocks your path near the beginning of the level, you have to destroy it to proceed. The 2nd Battle Armor can be seen fighting some malfunctioning Processed off in the distance as soon as you turn the corner, but Shrike will drive by it quite quickly. The 3rd Battle Armor attacks you on the long road before the tunnel, and while you have more time to fight it you won't be able to destroy the electrical towers and gunship if you concentrate your fire on the Battle Armor. 7) Destroy all gunships Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: Destroy all three gunships that appear in the level. Tips: The first gunship appears at the very beginning, after you turn the corner where the group of Processed are. It flies by quickly, by you should have enough time to hit it with a tank shell. The second gunship appears on the long road past the checkpoint during your fight with the 3rd Battle Armor, it too flies by quickly but shouldn't be too difficult to shoot down as long as you ignore the Battle Armor. The final gunship flies into the tunnel from behind you soon after you enter the tunnel, its fairly easy to shoot down within the enclosed space of the tunnel. 8) Destroy the dropship Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: At the very end of the tunnel, a dropship will briefly appear at the tunnel exit to drop off some soldiers. Destroy the dropship before it leaves the area to achieve this objective. Tips: The dropship is tough and requires two to three cannon blasts to destroy, so be sure to act quickly as soon as it appears because it will only stand still briefly. Mission 6: Sopot's Citadel Break In: 1) Minimize civilian casualties Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: In the last building of the level (immedietely after the sniper alley), if you approach a door at the end of the corridor to your left you should hear a conversation between some stuck-up civilians and a very stressed-out soldier. The soldier will start shooting the civilians as soon as the conversation ends, if you can kill the soldier without any of the civilians dying you'll achieve this objective. Tips: Don't wait for the conversation to end. As soon as you hear it start, rush into the room, run right up to the soldier's face, and unload your weapon into his head until he collapses. Don't fire from the doorway, the civilians will be running around in the way and most likely will get shot. The soldier is armed only with a pistol, but the room is packed with civilians and a single stray bullet from you or him will most likely hit one and cause you to fail the objective. Main Gate: 1) Locate the anti-armor weaponry Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: When you first enter the level, there should be a destroyable sewer grate in the floor in front of you, near a chain fence and some grenade ammo. Blow up the sewer grate and drop down. Follow the path, blow up the brick wall to continue. Past the brick wall, destroy the loose boards lying on the floor with your machine gun. This should reveal a secret passage that leads to a building with three soldiers and some WASP launchers. Walk to the launchers to complete the objective. Tips: The exit from this room takes you straight into the middle of the courtyard, just a few feet away from the very nasty Battle Armor. Quickly take cover behind the crate in front of you. 2) Collapse the light post on the Battle Armor Difficulty: VERY Hard How to Get It: In the main courtyard, a lightpost may be dropped by shooting its base with your grenade launcher. If you manage to drop the lightpost onto the Battle Armor patrolling the courtyard, you'll achieve this objective. Tips: The Battle Armor moves quickly, so it's difficult to get the timing right. It also doesn't help matters with the Battle Armor emptying its twin gattlings and rocket launcher into your head the entire time. The 'easiest' way to achieve this objective is to go to the secret area from the previous bonus objective, and exit out the door. Run behind the crate in front of you with the ammo and health near it, the lightpost is just on the other side. The Battle Armor should attempt to walk around the crate to get to you, when its almost under the lightpost lean left from the crate and shoot the base of the lightpost with your grenade launcher to drop it, hopefully onto the Battle Armor. It may take you a few tries to get the timing right. Ammo Dump: 1) Drop the suspended platform on enemy troops Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: At the beginning of the interior of the ammo dump building is a cargo area with several troops, including a female trooper with an NICW. A platform hangs from the ceiling in the middle of this room, shoot the platform with your grenade launcher to drop it. If it drops onto an enemy trooper, you'll achieve this objective. You will NOT achieve this objective if you drop the platform onto nobody. Tips: It's fairly easy to achieve this objective, but you'll usually end up losing a couple of medi-kits in the process. From where you enter the room, you can't hit the platform with a grenade without killing the soldiers under it, so you have to run across to the other side of the room where you have a clear shot at the ceiling support holding the platform up. It's easy to hit it with a grenade, and the platform will almost always end up landing on a soldier or two, but in the process you'll lose one or two medi-kits from all the people shooting at you. Battle Armor: No Bonus Objectives Hot Pursuit: 1) Disrupt the Citadel's communications capability Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: After you leave the Battle Armor, you'll blow up some barrels to create a hole leading into a computer building. After leaving that building, you'll be inside a courtyard with an ATV in front of you and a pair of double doors on your left. Go through the double doors to reach the Citadel's communications center. On the second floor are a pair of double doors leading to the broadcast antenna. Place an objective charge onto the antenna to blow it up and achieve the objective. Tips: There are a few guards defending the comm center, but after all you've been through they shouldn't be too much of a problem. Missile Silo: No Bonus Objectives Mission 7: Hanging in the 'Hood Mean Streets: 1) Help RF take intersection Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: Mid-way through the level you should find an automated turret overlooking a battle between a pair of RF fighters and several urban military troopers. Get into the turret, and kill all the soldiers who appear from the right to protect the RF fighters on your left. Keep killing the soldiers until they stop respawning, and if the two RF fighters are still alive you'll achieve this objective. Tips: This shouldn't be too difficult. The two RF fighters are pretty skilled with their assault rifles, and should be able to hold their own against any soldiers you miss. Remember, the turret has infinite ammo. Be sure to blow up the concrete block directly in front of you with the turret to increase your view. The RF fighters CAN die, however, so don't get too frustrated if they do. 2) Protect RF fighters in streets Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: At the very end of the level, prevent the two Red Faction fighters from getting killed by the soldiers. Even after you save the Red Faction fighters, you won't be rewarded this objective until you approach the door that exits the level. Tips: Two soldiers shoot from alleyways to the left of the road, and several soldiers will spawn from the hole in the way on the right side of the road. Blast the two soldiers on the left with a couple of NICW grenades, then run in front of the hole on the right and kill the soldiers as they emerge. High Rise Hell: 1) Help Red Faction forces survive ambush Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: At the very beginning of the level, a pair of RF fighters will rush out into the street to fight a group of soldiers. Kill all the soldiers, and if both RF fighters are still alive you'll achieve this objective. Tips: Quickly follow the RF fighters as soon as you see them, be sure to mow down the group of soldiers that appear on your left as soon as you emerge out into the open. The final two soldiers will be shooting at you from a pair of windows above you, launch an NICW grenade through the window to wipe them both out. 2) Kill four snipers Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: When you meet up with the two Red Faction fighters pinned down by snipers, kill all four snipers to get the objective. It's not necessary to save the Red Faction fighters, in fact they seem to inevitably die before you can finish off all the snipers. Tips: The first sniper is on ground level hiding behind some debris directly in front of you. The second sniper is firing from a window on the second floor of the building forward from your position. The third sniper is firing from the roof of the shorter building to the northwest of your position. The final sniper is on the second floor of the building you're in, directly above your position. Run out into the open, turn around, look up, and gun him down. 3) Kill eight snipers Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: Four more snipers appear after you reach the building's second floor and witness a Red Faction woman attempt to jump the gap and get shot down in the process. Kill them all (only works if you also killed the four snipers from the previous objective). Tips: The first sniper is standing next to an electrical pole. He should be visible from across the window in the right side of the hallway just before the gap. The second and third snipers should be visible northwest of the gap, one should be in the parallel garage windows, the other should be in a second-floor window above the burning debris. The final sniper is in the hallway with you, he's camped out just around the corner immedietely after the gap waiting to ambush you. Death from Above: 1) Protect RF fighters in the street Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: After the cutscene where a sniper kills a Red Faction woman, you have a minute or two before a group of Red Faction fighters will attempt to flee into the streets below you. If you can prevent them from being killed, you get the bonus. Do this by killing the eight enemy soldiers nearby firing into the streets below. Tips: The first two enemies are a sniper and a soldier right in front of you. A 3rd and 4th soldier are on the floor above and below you on the opposite side of the building, they should be visible through the blown-up floor. The 5th and 6th soldiers are on the floor above and below you on your side of the building, run over to the opposite side of the building after killing the 3rd and 4th soldiers to see them. A 7th enemy sniper is across the street, on the rooftop near the satellite dish. The final enemy, a sniper, is firing from a building at the end of the street, visible from the side of the building you enter from. You don't need to kill all the enemies, just elminate enough of them so that the RF fighters won't be mowed down when they make their escape. Also watch out, because some of the snipers may respawn after a while. High Rent District: No Bonus Objectives In The Back Alleys: No Bonus Objectives Mission 8: Dancing with the Dead Cemetery: 1) Kill the Processed Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: Kill a certain number of Processed civilians (50 in easy difficulty, 75 in medium, and 100 in hard) to achieve this objective. Although no completed objective will appear in your objectives list, you'll get a green star and a heroics increase. Tips: The only way to achieve this objective without running out of ammo is to use the sniper rifle. A single headshot, or a couple of chest shots should be enough to kill each Processed. From the crypt in which you begin the mission, snipe at the Processed from the two windows and duck behind cover whenever you need to heal. Try not to let the waves of Processed reach the crypt, as they'll be able to walk up to the windows and shoot inside at you. Use your kill counter in your stats screen to keep track of how many Processed you've killed. 2) Take a (much needed) bath Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: There's a large fountain in the cemetary courtyard, just across from the front doors of the Cathedral. Jump in it and soak your body (it takes a minute or two), and you'll eventually complete the objective. Tips: This objective is kind of buggy, sometimes it doesn't work. It's also difficult to bathe while you've got Processed and soldiers shooting at you. To stop the Processed from spawning, run to the area near the level exit (the Mausoleum) but don't go in. Run back to the fountain and the Processed should be gone. Soldiers will follow you from the Mausoleum, but if you kill them hopefully the new soldiers that respawn near the Mausoleum won't attack you until you go back. This should clear the fountain area of enemies and give you some peace time to bathe. 3) Find Durgan's earring Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: One of the crypts on the Mausoleum side of the cemetary has a discolored brick wall on the side facing the graves. Blow open the wall and walk inside. Pick up the small glowing spark to achieve this objective (who the heck is Durgan, anyway? A Summoner character maybe?). Tips: The crypt your looking for is just alongside the fence that divides the crypts from the tombstones. It's the second crypt from the fountain. Catacombs: 1) Disturb no burial urns Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: In the first room of this level, several soldiers are camped in a room with many burial urns on raised altars. If you can kill all the soldiers without breaking any of the urns, you'll achieve this objective. Tips: As soon as you walk into the room, the soldiers will start shooting and the urns will get busted in no time. Instead, from outside the room use the railgun's scope while crouching. The x's in the scope represent the enemy's chest, aim below it to shoot them in the legs. By shooting low you'll be firing the rails through the altars the urns are standing on rather than the urns themselves. Be aware the enemies will be alerted to your presence and open the door as soon as you start firing, so act quickly to kill them all. 2) Clear the catacombs of the Processed Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: In the catacomb tunnels past the automated turret, you'll be attacked by many Processed civilians. Kill them all to achieve the objective. Tips: As before, headshots with the sniper rifle are the only way to kill all the Processed without running out of ammo. Don't rush into the tunnels, the Processed can seemingly appear out of nowhere and you're as good as dead if they surround you in such cramp quarters. Instead proceed slowly, killing the waves of Processed as they come, only proceeding further into the tunnels when no more Processed emerge to attack you. Cathedral: No Bonus Objectives Mission 9: A River Runs To It On The Docks: 1) Crush the enemy Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: On the left side of the enemy building is a large black concrete block suspended from a crane. Snipe the cable holding the block up, and it will drop down and crush part of the enemy building. Tips: It's easiest to shoot the block when you're taking cover on the left side of the over-turned car. Inside the Submarine: 1) Destroy garbage scow Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Somewhere past the bridge and the 3rd enemy sub, Tangier will spot a garbage scow dumping garbage into the river. She'll tell you to teach them a lession. Blow them away with a few torpedos to complete the objective. Tips: This should be pretty straightforward. Dive! Dive! Dive! 1) Geo-Mod the bridge to destroy the sub Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: At the beginning of the level, you'll encounter an enemy sub between two support pillars. Blast the pillars instead of the sub, and the bridge will eventually collapse and crush the sub. Tips: You won't get this bonus if you blow up the sub yourself, so be sure you shots don't hit it with your splash damage. 2) Destroy the ammo crates Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: When you take cover inside the cargo ship to avoid the depth charges, destroy all the crates inside the ship to achieve this objective. Tips: It's dark inside the ship, but the crates are big targets and you should be able to find them all. 3) Destroy the fuel drums Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: Also inside the cargo ship, you can destroy all the fuel drums to achieve another bonus objective. Tips: This is harder than the previous objective, since the fuel drums are pretty small and their brownish coloration tends to blend in with the brown floor of the cargo ship. Just be patient and you should eventually succeed. 4) Geo-Mod past the homing mines Difficulty: Easy How to Get It: Shortly into the minefield that appears after you exit the ship, you'll notice the seabed splits into two canyons. The wall in between the two canyons has a boulder at the bottom of it. Blast the boulder with several torpedos to reveal a secret passage that bypasses the minefield. Tips: Several mines stand between you and the boulder, snipe them with your torpedos to clear a path. The Right Way In: 1) Destroy all enemy subs Difficulty: Medium How to Get It: Instead of entering the docking bay and exiting the level, stick around and keep blowing up the enemy subs that keep respawning. Eventually you'll destroy them all and achieve the objective. Tips: Fighting enemy subs isn't too difficult, just constantly strafe left and right to avoid their torpedos. This bonus objective is a bit buggy, sometimes the enemy subs will stop respawning even though you haven't achieved the objective yet. If this happens, just forget about it and proceed to the next level. Mission 10: Inside the Nano Base Industrial Processing: No Bonus Objectives Repta Reunion: No Bonus Objectives BUT... be sure to pick up the boss's weapon after he dies. If you exit the level without it, you won't be able to pick it up later in the game. It's a great help against the final boss, so you'll definately want to avoid missing it.
